Day 1: Airport/Rose Lake Start of our services: a driver/guide will be waiting for you at the airport. Transfer to your hotel at Lac Rose (about a forty-minute drive). Overnight stay at the hotel. Day 2: Lake Retba / Lompoul Breakfast. Then explore the surroundings of the lake on horseback, riding through the dunes. Enjoy lunch by the lake and take in the view. You will then continue the journey to the Lompoul Oasis. Check-in at the beautiful Okai Lodge, followed by dinner and an overnight bivouac with some activities around a campfire. Day 3: Lompoul / Saint Louis Breakfast. A short hike and visits to local vegetable gardens in the surroundings before continuing the journey to Saint Louis. Local lunch and a free afternoon to explore the island at your own pace, followed by a carriage ride through the parallel and quiet streets of the island, ending in the fishermen’s district—an astonishing contrast between the calm beauty and the constant activity of the Lébou children, the future of an entire people. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel on the island. Day 4: Saint Louis / Djoudj National Park / Saint Louis Early breakfast before heading to Djoudj National Park to encounter a multitude of bird species that delight ornithologists from around the world. A sanctuary for migratory birds, the nature and open space will once again make you realize the importance of preserving the fragile yet magnificent wildlife and flora. You will then enjoy a pirogue ride accompanied by an ornithologist guide. Local lunch at a camp on the edge of the park, then return to the island. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. NB : During the park’s closure from August to October, visit the Langue de Barbarie Reserve. Day 5: Saint Louis / Guelakh / Gandiol Breakfast. Visit the Fulani village of Guelakh, an on-site eco-project offering multiple activities that directly contribute to the local development of the region. Several processing workshops have been set up there. From the village of Rao, where you will find a small market, a cart will take you to the center. Lunch at the village. You will have a guided tour to understand the operation of the different activities. You will then continue to a charming location along the Langue de Barbarie, where you can relax by the pool while admiring the river branch running parallel to the Atlantic Ocean. Dinner and overnight stay in a lodge camp by the river branch. Day 6: Gandiol / Thiès / Bandia Reserve / Sindia Breakfast and head south with a stop in a craft village specializing in basketry, then to the town of Thiès to visit the Museum of Decorative Arts. Local lunch, then in the Bandia Reserve, various animal species typical of the African savanna eagerly await your visit. Check-in at a nearby hotel, dinner, and overnight stay. Day 7: Sindia / Fadiouth Island / Palmarin Breakfast and continuation towards the village of Joal for a visit to Fadiouth, the Island of Shells. Its narrow paths, covered with shells, will charm you, and the small statues of saints in every corner of the village reflect the religious devotion of its inhabitants. The population is predominantly Catholic, and the mixed cemetery confirms the harmonious coexistence within the community. Local lunch. Next, head to the Palmarin region. The road is dotted with baobabs, rônier palms, and mango trees. The endless lagoons are playgrounds for thousands of birds. You will pass through various traditional Sérère villages and enjoy the local scenery along the way. Dinner with village entertainment, overnight at Palmarin ecolodge or a similar accommodation. Day 8: Palmarin / Falia / Pointe Sangomar (bivouac) Breakfast, then embark on a traditional pirogue towards Falia Island, passing by the Djiffer fishing port. After a picnic lunch, head towards Pointe de Sangomar. Dinner and overnight in a bivouac on the deserted island. Day 9: Sangomar / Pointe Jackson / Toubakouta Breakfast and continue the beautiful adventure by pirogue towards Pointe Jackson. Picnic lunch by the water before continuing to Toubakouta. Dinner and overnight in a comfortable hotel where you can later relax by the pool. Day 10: Toubakouta / Missirah / Sokone Breakfast and visit to Missirah, its fishing dock, and its ancient baobab tree. You will then continue to Sokone, where you will be settled at the Fadidi Niombato camp. Community-based tourism and nature conservation are major priorities here. Indeed, a very active association was founded by the owners, who are committed to carrying out solidarity projects. They support the local women in developing income-generating activities for real and sustainable development. Lunch, followed by a free afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp Day 11: Sokone / Dakar / Gorée Breakfast before setting off for Dakar, then take the ferry for a 25-minute crossing to Gorée Island. You will be settled in a charming guesthouse on the island, and the guide will take you on a tour of the island. Enjoy a local lunch. You will discover a place full of history and pain. The museum carefully preserves the remnants of this tragic period, and the House of Slaves, the main witness of the slave trade, will open its doors to you. Both beautiful and melancholic at the same time, strolling through the colorful streets will be a memorable part of your stay… Dinner and overnight in a charming inn. Day 12: Gorée / Dakar / Airport Breakfast and free morning on the island, followed by the return crossing to Dakar where you will have the pleasure of shopping. We will guide you to shops or markets to purchase quality local products, fabrics, and traditional accessories, followed by a local lunch. After a relaxing aperitif, we will accompany you to the airport according to your flight schedule. End of our services.
